Paper grocery bags, scissors, markers, crayons, odds and ends such as rickrack, pompoms, sequins, yarn, stickers, patches, and glue.

  • Prior to the session, cut a paper bag in the shape of a vest for each child. Cut a circle in the bottom of the bag for the child’s neck and cut an armhole on each side.  Cut an opening along the length of the bag forming the front of the vest.
  • Invite children to decorate their vest using markers, crayons, and various odds and ends.
  • Show the children how they can fringe the bottom

Talk with the children about how the characters of today’s Bible story may have dressed. Ask questions relating to what we wear today and encourage children to say the Bible verse with you.
