Begin the building process by understanding who you are. Learn your strengths and weaknesses. Yes, you have weakness even though we all know you’re amazing. You’re a Children’s Minister, of course you’re amazing. However, if you want to be more amazing, you will recognize what you do well and enlist those whose strengths are your weaknesses to join you.
I recommend the book, “StrengthsFinder 2.0” by Tom Rath. It was a huge help for me in understanding how I am wired and motivate. Check it out. I also recommend, “Good to Great” by Jim Collins. We need to get on the right bus with the right people and get those people in the right seats.
It is time to build your team and listen to my interview with Klista Storts, a Childhood Ministry Specialist and Editor for Life Way Christian Resources. She describes four key types we need on our team. See if you can pick out yourself, then think about those on your team. You will relate and lead better, as well as appreciate your team members more. Enjoy!
