Use strings from sewing cards to string together large jingle bells.  Place the bells and strings in the block area like you would with stringing beads.  DIY lacing strings: tie ribbon tightly onto a twist tie and fold the tie in half, twisting it tightly. Use tape to help the knotted ribbon lay flat. On the opposite end, create a “stop” by tying a large knot.   Place patterns to copy alongside the bells and lacing strings (silver/gold/silver or small/large/large). Invite kids to use the strings of bells to keep rhythm during group time songs.  To make this an art activity, simply use bright Christmas ribbon for the string and create a wrist loop on the lacing end of the ribbon after a few bells are on each ribbon.  Kids can wear their bells to celebrate the special birth of Jesus.
