These preschoolers were invited to add a snowflake, blue tissue squares and glitter to a sheet of clear contact paper.  The teacher placed the contact paper sticky side up and secured it to the table with a bit of tape on each corner.  Add the black strips of construction paper around the square edge to be the window frame.  Kids will have fun adding the snow scene elements in the middle.  The teacher added the final cover of contact paper to sandwich the scene in the middle then trim the edges.

*Note- Poster board edges provide for a more rigid frame if you plan to hole punch the top and hang from the ceiling to be seen from both sides.

What you will need:

  • White paper
  • Blue tissue paper square
  • Glitter
  • Clear contact paper
  • Tape
  • Black strips of construction paper or poster board
  • Hole punch–optional
  • Scissors

Put it together:

  1. Invite preschoolers to make a snowflake
  2. Place the contact paper sticky side up on the table–secure the corners with tape.
  3. Invite the preschoolers to place the snowflake on the sticky paper and use blue tissue squares and glitter to decorate it.
  4. Add the black strips of construction paper around the square edge to be a window frame. Poster board edges provide for a more rigid frame if you plan to hole punch the top and hang from the ceiling to be seen from both sides.
  5. Add the final cover of contact paper to sandwich the scene in the middle then trim the edges.
